Songs like "Perfect Weapon" contain all the metal cliches that one song could offer, with its melodic harmony riffs, double bass pumping, and vocal melodies. With staccato guitar blasts and emo-screamo vocal stylings, Black Veil Brides fits comfortably into the genre while not necessarily breaking new ground. Following the YouTube clatter for their video "Knives and Pens," Black Veil Brides' first release, We Stitch These Wounds, finds the band venturing into territory that's been tried by the likes of Bullet for my Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold.
